Arnon Krongrad, MD

Laparoscopic Prostate Cancer Surgery

Dr. Krongrad is a specialist in prostate cancer treatment and a pioneer of robotic assisted and laparoscopic prostate cancer surgery. Among his publications is the original technical manual for laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. Dr. Krongrad is also chairman of the not-for-profit Prostate Cancer Mission and author of Behind the Mask, a published series of articles on prostate problems and other subjects.

Current Practice

The Krongrad Institute for laparoscopic prostate cancer surgery and treatment, based in Aventura, Florida, develops original material for the general public and was among the first organizations to permit broad patient interaction through online prostate surgery patient stories. Says Dr. Krongrad: "Patients can help patients in ways that the men and women in the white coats. Developing an online support system was one of the best things we did for men with prostate cancer."
