Frenuloplasty Gone Wrong (remotely related to circumcision)

Post a new topicby Gabriel on Mon Dec 24, 2007 10:39 pm

Hi, I'm an uncircumcised male. My frenulum was too tight and short. In other words I had frenulum breve. I went to an urologist here in Idaho, he recommended a full circumcision but i opted for a frenuloplasty since that was the only skin that was tight. I had the frenuoplasty performed with removanble sutures. As for anesthesia the doctor used lidocaine with epinephrine as the vasoconstrictor. The day after surgery the skin around where the frenulum used to be became necrotic, a black color. This color started where the doctor injected the lidocaine with epinephrine, it eventually healed with new skin growth of lower quality (it is less elastic) and where the frenulum used to be is a thick scar that is not elastic. So now my penis has an inelastic scar, I can only retract my foreskin about an inch behind the gland when erect before it starts pulling the head down. My question is, was the dose of epinephrine too high and caused the necrotic tissue to form? and what possible solutions are there, a circumcision would remove some of the scar but not all of it since it is right behind the glans, so what solutions can you think of? Have you ever heard of a case like mine? Saying I'm extremely annoyed by my situation is an understatement, I really cannot have sex since it is too uncomfortable and I went to a different urologist for help a week ago and was just as clueless as me to a solution.

Just wondering if you have an update about this. What have you done since?

I am in a similar situation in which the frenulum is too tight. I was thinking of this as a solution, but am thinking now to go w/ the full circumcision.

Thanks
