Yes, it could be worse

Post a new topicby Sara9401 on Sun Feb 24, 2008 10:32 pm

I joined this forum about three months ago after a tentative diagnosis of IC Urologist said that there was an ulcer, and a lot of inflammation, and that as a matter of policy I needed to be biopsied. Had a biopsy and fulguration under general anesthesia about three weeks ago. Diagnosis? Papillary transitional cell carcinoma. But it didn't end there. Several of the biopsied areas were questionable, so we did the entire x#$%! thing again last week. Final diagnosis? Carcinoma in situ (one step worse.)
So now I will be leaving the IC group and joining the bladder cancer forum :( Beginning April 2 I will have BCG instilled into the bladder once a week for six weeks.
The urologist says that all my symptoms of burning and pain could be explained by the cancer diagnosis.
Feeling pretty low right now.

So sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have cystitis (I think) and a bladder stone. I hope it doesn't become worse. I know it sounds trivial but can diet improve your situation at this point? Anyway, you have all my compassion.
